Chrystia Freeland is a woman who embodies determination, intelligence, and resilience. Her story is one of ambition, hard work, and breaking barriers in a male-dominated industry. Born in Peace River, Alberta, Freeland went on to study at Harvard University and then at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. After completing her studies, she embarked on a career in journalism, working for various top publications such as The Financial Times, The Globe and Mail, and The Economist.
However, it was not long before Freeland’s path took an unexpected turn. In 2013, she entered the world of politics, running as a candidate for the Liberal Party of Canada. Her passion for advocating for the middle class and championing gender equality quickly gained her recognition, and she was appointed as Canada’s first female Minister of International Trade. Her strong leadership and diplomatic skills were undeniable, and in 2019, she became the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs.
But Freeland’s determination and passion don’t end with her political career. She has also taken on a challenging project – overseeing the revitalization of a deteriorating neighborhood in Edmonton, Alberta. Through this project, Freeland aims to empower local businesses and bring economic stability to the area, all while facing challenges such as budget constraints and community pushback.
